VPS

• Direct Traffic to Multiple VPS by Lord Balancer

  For distribution system, you can choose either Least Connection or Round Robin.
  For seting up load balancing to direct traffic to multiple VPS, move to the accordion of the VIP (virtual IP address) under [Load Balancer Config].

  【Set up load balancing】

  1. Click the accordion of the VIP you’d like to set up load balancing.
  2. Move to the balancing source port of the [Balancing Setup], select the accessing souce port.
  3. Click [Setup] of the box on the right below the balancing source port.
  4. Select [Round Robin] or [Least Connection] in [Balancing Method].
  5. Select [Health Monitor]. (Create it in advance at the accordion of [Health Monitor].)
  6. Click [Add] on the right below the [Balancing destination IP Address] list.
  7. Select the IP address you’d like to distribute to, from pull down menu.
  (You can add several IP addresses at a time.)
  8. Click [Save] button and setup is done.
  9. Log in to the VPS and set up the network.

• Configure Health Monitor Rules

  For distribution system, you can choose either Least Connection or Round Robin.

  1. Click the accordion of the VIP you’d like to set up load balancing.

  (You can add several IP addresses at a time.)

  9. Log in to the VPS and set up the network.

• Add a Load Balancer

  You can add a load balancer in [Network] menu. It directs traffic to multiple VPS.
  After the addition is completed, VIP(virtual IP address) will be given.
  If you’d like to set up load balancing for multiple VPS, move to [Network] in the menu, then set it up from the [Load Balancer] list.

• Add a Space to an Image Storage

  You can add a load balancer in [Network] menu. It directs traffic to multiple VPS.
  After the addition is completed, VIP(virtual IP address) will be given.
  If you’d like to set up load balancing for multiple VPS, move to [Network] in the menu, then set it up from the [Load Balancer] list.

• Copy the Stored Image to Other Region

  You can copy the stored image to a different region.
  Move to [Image] tab found in the menu bar on the left side of the page, then Click [Replicate] to the right of the image list.

• Restore from Auto-Backup

  You can restore the backup data you stored by auto-backup feature of VPS, to other VPS.
  Move to the [server] in the menu of the left side of the page, then click on the [Server Rebuild] button to restore the backup in VPS admin page.
  You can restore the image automatically backed up, only to the same VPS.
  If you would like to restore the backup image saved in other VPS, store backup for an image storage, and restore it as the [Save image].

  【Store backup image for image storage】
  Click the [Image], then select the [Auto-Backup] from the image list.
  Click the [Save] to the right of the backup.

• Reinstall OS/Application Template Image

  You can reinstall OS and application template image for VPS, in VPS admin page from the [Server] in the menu on the left side of the page. 
  Os reinstallment can be executed from the [Server Rebuild] on the top of the VPS admin page.
  Please note that your VPS data will be deleted when OS of the template image is reinstalled.
  ※The data attached to the additional disk won’t be deleted.

• Access from VPS to Database Server via Custom Network

  You can access to a database server and Z.com VPS by our dedicated network.
  Connect the VPS to the database server dedicated network, from the list of database server dedicated networks, from the [Network] menu of

  the left side of the page.

  1. Click on the [Network] menu.
  2. Select the database server dedicated network in the list of database server dedicated networks.
  3. Click on the [Setup] in the right above the contracted VPS list.
  Select [Connect] from the pull-down menu of VPS you’d like to connect to, then click the [Save].
  IP address will generate, then long in to VPS, and set up routing table.
  At database server admin page, add a database user that can access to the IP address generated by VPS.
  4. Access to database from VPS as the database user you just added.

• Mount your Custom ISO Image to VPS

  You can mount your customized ISO image, or the ISO image available on the internet, to Z.com’s VPS.
  The mounting ISO image will be handled by RESTful API.

  【Mount ISO image】
  ※To send API command, use API client plugin for Web browser such as ADD-ONS.

  1. Generate an API authentication token. (You can check the API user information in the [API] menu on the left side of the page.)
  2. Download the ISO image from the URL which was placed token, check the path of that image. 
  3. Shutdown the VPS.
  4. Upload the ISO image, start VPS, and mount the ISO image.
  5. Shutdown VPS to take out the ISO image.

• Restore Backup Image to VPS

  You can restore the image backed up from VPS to other VPS in VPS admin page.
  When you’d like to restore, click the [Server Rebuild] in VPS admin page on the [Server] in the menu on the left side of the page.

• Backup VPS Image

  You can backup VPS image at VPS in VPS admin page on the [Server] in the menu on the left side of the page.
  The stored image can be comfirmed on the [Image] in the menu on the left side of the page.
  You can backup the additional disk image attached to VPS as well.

• Allocate Private IP Address to VPS

  You can allocate a private IP address to VPS from the private network list from the [Network] in the menu on the left side of the page.
  It is not allowed to allocate three or more private network segments to one VPS.

  1. Click the [Network]　in the menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Move to the private networks, Click the accordion of the network segment you’d like to allocate to VPS.
  3. Click the [Setup] icon on the right top of the contracted VPS list.
  4. Select the [Assign] from the pull-down menu to the right of the VPS you’d like to allocated to, then click the [Save].
  The allocated private IP address will appear.
  5. Log in to VPS, and set up network.

• Allocate Additional IP Address to VPS

  You can allocate an additional IP address to VPS from the [Additional IP Address] list from the [Network] in the menu on the left side of the page.
  On the control panel, it is not allowed to allocate two or more additional IP segments to one VPS.

  【Steps to allocate to VPS】

  1. Click the [Network]　in the menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Move to the [Additional IP Address] tab, and click the accordion of the additional IP address you’d like to allocate to VPS.
  3. Click the [Setup] icon on the right top of the [IP Address] list.
  4. Select the VPS which will be allocated to, then click the [Save] button.
  5. The allocated IP address will appear.
  6. Log in to VPS, and set up network.

• What is Virtio?

  Virtio is the framework which improves VPS disk I/O and network performance much better compared to full virtualization.

  KVM, the virtualization type used by Z.com VPS, support both full virtualization and half virtualization.
  After you add an VPS, you will be able to turn On/Off the function on the [Network Virtio] and the [Storage Virtio].
  On will run full virtualization, and Off to run half virtualization.

• Change VPS Plan

  You can change your plan of CPU and memory of VPS by the [Change] icon on the right side of the plan on the accordion of the server setting.
  The data stored in the VPS will take over.
  The price plan would be changed to the new plan after the plan has been changed.

• Add Additional Disk Space

  You can create and attach 200GB(500GB) additional disk space by changing the disk space to [250GB] or [550GB] on the accordion of the server setting. (This is an option with additional charge.)
  If you’d like to mount the attached additional disk to VPS, you need to log in and set up first.
  If you put it back to [50GB], additional disk space will be detached and deleted, as well as put back [550GB] to [250GB].
  Please note that the data added to the additional disk will be deleted when you delete the additional disk.
  If you turn auto-backup to [Enable], the additional disk which was added extra disk space, will be automatically backed up as well.
  Auto-backup option fee varies depending on whether you attach an additional disk or not.

• Take VPS Backup Automatically

  By turning the auto-backup function to the [Enable], three generation of servers will be backup automatically. (This is an option with additional charge.)
  Downloaded backup image can be checked at the [Image] in the menu on the left side of the page.
  And you can restore the backup image to VPS from the [Restore] at the top of the VPS page.
  If an additional disk is attached, it will be backed up as well.
  The option charge fee varies depending on whether there is attached additional disk or not.

• Operate VPS

  You can execute various operation by the buttons at the top of the page as follows: [Power Control], [Console], [Save Image], [Server Rebuild]
  [Power OFF]：You can start, restart, shutdown, or power off your VPS.
  [Console]：VNC console/Serial Console will appear in new window.
  [Save Image]：You can save a VPS or an additional disk space image attached to VPS. You can see the saved images from [Image] in the menu on the left side of the page.　
  [Server Rebuild]：You can restore the backup VPS image or the image backup automatically. You can also reinstall the OS template from here.

• Download Private Key

  If you select the [Auto-Generate] when you add the SSH Key, then the private key will be downloaded automatically after creating the public key is done.
  For security purpose, it allows you to download private key only when you add SSH Key. So please make sure to download it.
  If you select the [Import] when you add the public key of SSH Key, please make sure to use your SSH Key pair.

• Add SSH Key

  SSH Key can be added on menu [SSH Key] when you add VPS on the server adding section.
  You can choose whether the [Auto-Generate] that automatically create an SSH Key pair, or the [Import] that you can add the public key of your SSH Key pair.
  If you choose the [Auto-Generate], a pair of private key will be downloaded automatically.
  For security purpose, it allows you to download private key only when you add SSH Key. So please make sure to download it.
